Practicing Gratitude 4.30.21

Softball is going to playoffs

And this is how a double feels

Time with Papa and Mama, although never as slow and relaxed as I imagine it will be. Biggest practical gift is that they cover dinners - whether homemade or Campisis

Choo choo Charlie in town

Practicing driving with Essie

Mama practicing driving with Essie

Feeling sick for about five days last week ~ goodness makes me appreciate feeling normal and health

HG with Mama and Papa, encouragement over dinner with parenting

Your forgiveness, Father. When I use too many words, gossip, slander... when I'm competitive or stressed / worried.... all of these things I "know" better but still fall on my face with. Thank you for your forgiveness, picking me back up and wiping off that sin, every morning a new start

Ashley is 16!!

And driving!!

Anticipating reunion and my time with BU friends next weekend

Throwback from Cappy
One thing I love about this pic - Basden has the same smile / leaning in that she has two pics above at Ashley's party... that girl

Sharing a hair appointment with Essie
First ever "real" cut and certainly color - Corbin has always cut her hair

Student interviews at work, getting to know these incoming students better, they are remarkable

TIM SCOTT. Specifically, his rebuttal to Biden's speech. Praise the Lord for His work and influence in this man

When Essie is home

Hud's affirming, humble text

My eye catching a "Daboo" license plate on 377 and chasing Mom and Dad down... so fun to just run into them

Basden running for Student Council secretary - unopposed - and won! Ha! Gave a speech in front of peers, love that she will get a lot of time with Dr. Yocom

Girls preparing for cheer tryouts in a couple of weeks

Casting my cares on You, Lord. I'm considering placing a fishing pole by my Bible

Cam and girls coming in this weekend on their way to the beach - and Rowan's 13th!

Both Bran and Hud heading home for a couple of days next week... happy happy to see them before the launch for their summers

Essie - touched that she is quick to forgive, doesn't hold grudges

Reminded of Basden's care of Essie, her nurturing actions, even sacrificially

Joy going to CLPS prom with Ford Winchester, so fun especially for Mama and Patsy!!

Mama and Papa visiting SCS, seeing our new construction and where I spend my days, meeting a few special friends

Hud getting to show Brad, Amy and Ellie Martin around Auburn, love the connection and his generous heart

A 45-min (too quick) "appointment" with Krista in my office - this is what it has come to in finding time! Not ideal but we'll take it.

Waking up extra early one morning this week without an alarm - bolstered my heart to have so much quiet space before going to work - thank you Lord

Touring a family through the SCS weight room with Coach Wimpee, I hadn't ever seen this

The Cooks moving this week - BOO - but so grateful for precious neighbors and the good friends we've become. This is not our last rodeo.

HSM leader dinner - Corbin taking the lead in hosting and making in happen - and Gina coming to help!

The gift - and it really is a gift - of being able to brag on our kids shamelessly to all four grandparents

That these just keep coming back each year - amazing

Quiet Friday morning! Slow morning when I could take my time, by the fire on the patio on a rainy day PRAISE JESUS

Again, because laughter really is the best medicine

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles... 1 Chronicles 16:11-12
