Practicing Gratitude 1.29.21

- Corbin and girls Daddy / daughter weekend in Playa del Carmen - Christmas gift

- Lake weekend, all seven of us, Bannister’s lake house. NINETEEN years.

- Listening to these friends' conversations - college kids (and three-year-olds!), home decor, politics and culture, lots of Covid convo

- The fear I feel with what's going on in our country, and not just politics but culture wars. And that You are bigger.

- A night at home alone, coming back from lake weekend to quiet - looking through recipes and truly resting, reading til I fell asleep

- Fam FT - Hud from the sand volleyball court, Bran with a houseful, fills my heart to connect event for a few minutes

- Visiting Champion cheer for Essie, trusting you to guide us on what / when to invest

- Jen leaving Norman after Kim’s Homegoing, that you are with her and providing hope

- Freezing soccer games. Worth it. Especially sitting in the stands with Daboo. And Basden is CLEARED after sitting out for three months with her concussion

- That working with Chrissie makes this job a lot more fun

- Fri morn at HOME praise Jesus

- Corbin’s LISTENING and really patient redirecting me as I unload work issues, it is SO HELPFUL and I trust him

- Hard convos and miscommunication, when to let it rest and when to not - thank you for your power to override emotions, Lord.

- Her google search prompted when Ms. Fisher asked how Basden sees God in her life

- 1 Chron 29 - Gifts for building the temple - the leaders of the Israelites gave willingly to build the temple - gold, silver, precious stones…

v. 9 - “The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the Lord. King David also rejoiced greatly.”

v. 14 “Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.”

v. 18 - O Lord, keep this desire in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you.”

Thinking of our SCS capital campaign, and how it warms my heart to see people give so generously. Help us remember, Lord, that this new building is for YOU and that it's taken lots of hands to give generously, but that really it all came from you to begin with. Who are we to be able to give?? I love this passage so much - the entire building and the process all points to you.

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles...   1 Chronicles 16:11-12
