Practicing Gratitude 1.17.21

- Weekend with Brogdons before "life" starts up again in 2021

- For a family who doesn't do puzzles very often, 1000-piece is no joke. Corbin and Hud carried the torch here.

- When Mr. Williams loves our children well, he loves us well. What a life and legacy, Lord, thank you that our family got to be a part of it.

- Tara Leigh Cobble and the Bible Recap. Read about 1/3 of the way through in 2020, excited to keep going. Love love this way of reading / studying the Bible.

- That You, Father, are bigger than our government

- Getting back into work this week. Even though I'm rather depressed about it all, trusting you to be the lifter of my head.

- Delightful mail

Joy’s Winter Park ski trip with her besties - goodness this is a sweet group

- SCS staff training, cannot underscore how grateful I am to get to work alongside these amazing people

- Bran spending a couple of days in KC and then driving back to FW with Jess

- Hud getting to see Trey and Amy’s fam in Milton, going on to Clemson with friends

- Mom / daughter lunch and visiting with Wamstads this week, have missed them so much

Regarding our country:

Ps 4: 6- Many are asking, “Who can show us any good?” Let the light of your face shine upon us, O Lord.

Ps 13:6 - But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me.

Ps 28:7 - The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in him and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

- Fri mornings at home

- Jn 3:30- He must increase, but I must decrease

- Good week at work, BUSY and full, but felt purposeful and engaging with people in deep ways is so very good right now in the midst of Covid and our country's unrest

- SNOW in Fort Worth

- Unexpected time with Jess before they head back to BU, so fun to be with her and she is so relaxed and fun

- Baylor's win over TCU (men's bball), getting to go to lunch and the game with Moffatts

- Moms /daughters Rise dinner with Andersons, Sanders before these girls go back to college

- Bran working Door Dash the past couple of days, felt productive and earned some $$

- He reached down from on high and he took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.

They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. 2 Sam 22: 17-20

Getting to know the A/A family this week, the intensity and depth of their needs, SA's strength. Watching you go before them in enrolling their kiddos (all 4!) at SCS.

- Basketball cheer (we won't get many of these with both girls on soccer team)

- A restful, open weekend

- Both boys back at school, in their places

- Basden’s description of some challenging things that shaped her childhood

- Sweet, unexpected prayer time as I was driving and came upon a special place. Casting my cares and practicing gratitude.

- Lord thank you for keeping on reminding us - of your great love for us, so that in turn it produces a great love for others

- Conflict between our girls, I’m not sure how to handle. Makes me sad, but makes me depend on you. Help me be patient, Lord.

- Hud getting his first deer last night - with Trey!! He went to Milton with Riley and Hudson, so fun that Trey took the time with him and they had such a great night. And that Trey FACETIMED us to include us on the fun

- This was a special moment, hiding it in my heart, God is truly our Father who knows well our heart needs
