Practicing Gratitude 3.21.20 (Corona Week 1)

 - These two, health and smiles and incredible hearts. And that right now I'm getting more time with them

- Corona quarantine. Amidst the nasty virus, so many are finding comfort with the enforced slower pace and family time in unexpected ways

- Essie home safe and sound from Gulf Shores, the Jenkins for making it a fun week for her

- Bran home from Waco. Several days with Ruby there, he loved having a sidekick and realized the responsibility of keeping her

- Home (work) office

- And all of the sudden she created a painting studio (we didn't know she liked to paint)

- Finding her here all week (we didn't know she liked to play piano)

- Basden - "I hate that people are getting sick and even dying. I hate that. But I'm totally thriving, living my best life." She is truly an introvert

- DIY hand sanitizer

- Hud at Walmart, picking up a few things for me, this as he facetimed me to see which color of paint, sanitzier wipe in hand as he's shopping

- Essie's craft (with Hud's brown paint)

Hud's bear artwork

- "Just go quietly on"
I was touched by this phrase from a woman's video. When I wrote out the words and put it on our fridge, Basden thought it was me telling the kids to "just go quietly on" from past the refrigerator and quit getting so much food! I'm SO GLAD she told me!

- Corbin leaving work, God's promise

- Reconfiguring a (quiet) finale of Hud's senior year

Thank you to those who took the photos, enlarged them into posters, hung them for all to see. Even with a now-vacant campus, our senior families are so grateful

- Another day of health around here, not taking it for granted

- Michael Burr, his friendship, his precious family, and his incredibly kind text

- Gift of TIME that doesn't have to be filled or rushed

- Bible Recap reading plan

- Down time - and plenty of it

- This is how the Wilsons hoard

- Dinner at mom and dad's last Sat night before things really really started shutting down, Cappy in the hangar with his new invention - he was made for this

- Family dinners at home every night. Our kids each taking a turn to cook - Bran's king ranch chicken casserole (he made an extra for our sweet neighbors who just lost their granddad); Hud's sausage, mac and cheese with veggies, Joy's pulled pork with baked potatoes... Essie's turn coming!

- Last night I heard noises at 3:30am, looked upstairs and didn't see lights on from tv room, looked at Sonos app to see if we'd left stereo on, nothing. Walked upstairs and saw a blue light coming from the boys' room, Bran's big screen tv from his college house was set up across from their beds. They looked like 8 and 6 year olds again sneaking around - finally getting a tv in their bedroom!

- In times of a national crisis, that people are still creative and funny

- Reminder from grandparents

- This. As Mr. Rogers says, in times of crisis we will see the helpers. Praising God this morning for the generous helpers

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles...   1 Chronicles 16:11-12
